October 2008 AUTUMN CUT & RAKE
  • This month we cut and raked the whole site.
  • We do this every year to weaken the more invasive nettles and to encourage more wildflowers.
  • For the second year we've used the tractor and a tedder to make the work easier.
September 2008 AUTUMN FAYRE
  • Our stall at the Elmswell Autumn Fayre was great!
  • What a shame about the weather - it poured!
  • It was great to see everyone there - despite the rainclouds.
August 2008 VILLAGE OF THE YEAR - WE PLAY OUR PART!
  • We were delighted to show the judges round our wildspace.
  • We also had a display of photographs at the Blackbourne village hall.
  • WELL DONE, ELMSWELL - SUFFOLK VILLAGE OF THE YEAR 2008!
July 2008 DISCOVERY MORNING
  • 80 children from Elmswell Primary School came to Kiln Meadow!
  • We did all sorts of activities - we especially enjoyed the pond dipping and searching for mini-beasts.
  • We all had a picnic lunch afterwards.
June 2008 A NEW ORCHID
  • Not many bee orchids this year.
  • But we have found a new orchid.
  • It's a splendid Southern Marsh Orchid.
